This gorgeous antique calculator is a model made in Germany in the 1940s, in excellent condition and great working order. It is a Triumphator CRN, a reliable and sturdy model with all the charm of old-time calculating machines. It mounts a pinwheel system and performs the four basic arithmetical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) with exact results. All the pieces and component parts are original and move fluidly and softly: operating this calculator is a real pleasure for any lover of mechanical antiques. At the front of the item we can see a decal with the brand and model name, TRIUMPHATOR CRN, clearly printed in white on a black background. The decal and the numbers and symbols preserve the original white, red and green paint in great condition. Triumphator was an important manufacturer of pinwheel calculators that reached its zenith in the first half of the 20th century. Founded in 1900, when Otto Holzapfel (a former mechanic from Brunsviga) entered the company they started producing calculators. Triumphator machines were the first in including a 10s-carry mechanism in order to perform faster multiplication. This stunning model has a matt black-enameled metal case with hammered finish. The chromed-metal component parts (levers, bars and pointers) are in great condition, with no traces of rust or wear. The black enamel and the bakelite pieces have also survived greatly to our days, and this fact turns this antique calculator into a powerfully decorative piece as well as a functional machine.
