Beautiful Melitta Calculating Machine, Fully Restored and in working order. 1930's

This is a beautiful and functional calculating machine made by Melitta brand in the thirties (20th century). The design of the device is typical from the era, and its beauty is enhanced by its perfect operation. The calculating machine has been completely restored and is in frankly good condition, both aesthetical and operational. The black lacquer that covers the body of the machine makes an elegant contrast with the nickel-plated metal of the cranks and the mechanisms. The name of the brand and the numbers are engraved in the metal, and painted in golden color. The calculating machine has also some details and accessories made of white bakelite. All the parts work perfectly. Screwed on the rear, the machine has a black-lacquered metal plate. On it we can read the inscription VEB ERNST THÄLMANN-WERK SUHL/THÜRINGEN, and following this words there are two rectangles where the model (VI/16) and the serial number of the machine (Nº 125812) have been engraved. The inscription is probably the name of the dealer where the machine was originally purchased. Definitely, this Melitta calculating machine is a fine Antique which will be perfect to embellish the most elegant and personal office or desk. Machine measurements: 340 mm wide x 150 mm high.
