Important Swedish Facit Calculator. 1920s. In Magnificent Condition and Working Well

Rare and important Swedish Facit calculator made in the 1920s. This machine is in very good condition and works just like the first day of use, very smoothly. Its special look is quite remarkable and reminds us of vintage cash registers. The front polished brass side provides this calculator with an elegant and even luxurious touch, and turns it into a very decorative piece. The calculator has been revised and restored, always preserving its ancient look and vintage charm. It is a real museum item. Facit calculators started being produced in 1918 in Axel Wibels factory, located in Stockholm (Sweden). In 1924, a company called Åtvidaberg Industries took over Wibels company and adopted the Facit name for all the products that were developed in their factory. This particular calculator is a hand-cranked machine with lever input, and is based in Odhners calculator system. The original model was designed by Axel Wibel in 1918. In 1932 a new hand-cranked Facit model with keyboard input started being produced (Model T), and an electric Facit calculator (Model E) was developed in 1934. The machines front is really striking because of the attractive aesthetic and good condition that it shows. To the left of the white and red lever numbers we can see the elegant logo of the firm. The machines body is made of black-lacquered iron, while the front side is covered by a polished brass sheet. On the right side we can see the smart crank which produces the results and there are two wing nuts on both sides. On the left side there is also a bell and a round bakelite knob. This calculators great beauty and excellent working order turn it into the best acquisition, perfect to complete a good collection of vintage and curious devices.
