Antique Triumphator HZN mechanical calculator made in Germany in 1937, in excellent working order and great aesthetic condition. This is a classic model with pinwheel mechanism, an iconic design of the early 20th century which today provides exact outcomes when performing basic arithmetic operations. The calculator bears a fine black-enameled finish in amazing condition: the enamel looks shiny, even and uniform. The chrome-plated metal mobile component parts remain greatly preserved too. All of them move fluidly and softly and turn the use of the calculator into a real pleasure for its owner. The digits and inscriptions engraved in the metal are also painted with white enamel, except for the digits located under the outcome boxes. To the left of the digits we can see the brand logo TRIUMPHATOR and the model HZN below. Under the digits there is another inscription with the manufacturing companys name and the city of location, 101392. At the calculators right side we find the engraved serial name and a slightly worn sticker with the words WORLD TYPE. If we lift the machine, at its base we will find again the serial number. For its flawless working order and fine aesthetic, this antique Triumphator HZN mechanical calculator will stand out in the best collection of special pieces. Dimensions (without cranks): Width: 8.4 in / 21 cm. Depth: 5.2 in / 13 cm. The firm began in 1900 as a vacuum-tube company in Leipzig-Lindenau. In 1904 a mechanic from Brunsviga, Otto Holzapfel, entered the firm and then the calculator production started 1904 under the brand name Triumphator. As the first company world-wide, they introduced and made machines with 10s-carry mechanism in order to perform "faster multiplication". In 1912 Boleslaus Benas, another man from Brunsviga, joined. He became General Salesman and brought Triumphator to success. In 1930 the year-production of Triumphator was alike its competitor Brunsfiga. After WWII, 1946, the East Germany's government took control and the company produced calculators mainly for the Eastern Block. In 1965 the production (after 61 continuing years) came to an end.
