Antique mechanical calculator in working order, made circa 1940 and entirely original from the period. This machine works with a pinwheel mechanism, a system developed in the late 19th century which today still makes it possible to perform arithmetic calculations with accurate outcomes. The calculator that we can see in these images remains in good condition though it shows many signs of the trace of time and use, logical in such an ancient piece (it is more than seventy years old). The metal case bears a dark green hammered enameled finish; the finish is complete and even, except for certain points where it is somewhat worn. The chromed-metal mobile component parts are finely preserved; they show no visible signs of rust and move fluidly and softly. The black-plastic handles are also original and remain in good condition. At the calculators base we can see a plate with the engraved serial number 3-7364. This antique mechanical calculator is a survivor from the glory days of pinwheel machines, an ancient piece still in working order. Measurements: Top Width: 6.8 in / 17 cm.
