Antique and rare Rapid Calculator mechanical calculating machine made in the USA circa 1920, with a magnificent design and in good working order. The calculator is in good condition and makes it possible to perform the basic arithmetical operations with exact results, showing a good performance though being more than one hundred years old. The machine stands on a black metal base with four legs, one at each corner and with rubber bases which provide it with stability. All its component parts and pieces are original from the time, including the fine black and amber-colored plastic handles and the chrome-plated mobile parts. The calculators metal casing bears a fine black-enameled finish in good condition. The finish only shows some slight signs of wear, logical if we consider that the machine has been used for decades. The engraved numerals and inscriptions are painted in white and orange, and preserve the original enamel in excellent condition. To the left of the digit levers we can see the calculators name, RAPID CALCULATOR. This name correspond to The Rapid Calculator Company, founded by Otto P. Schumann in Filadelfia, USA in 1919. This name is also engraved in a metal plate riveted to the bottom left corner of the calculator. For its good working order and fine appearance, this antique and rare Rapid Calculator mechanical calculator will stand out in the best collection. Dimensions: Base: Width: 10.2 in / 25.5 cm.
