Astonishing amber-colored Stone seal, I'm almost sure its jade, carved by hand and more than one hundred years old. This piece comes from China, where it was made in the 19th century. The seal is quite remarkable because of its stylized design, its lovely carving work and the bright amber-colored stone it is made of. It is vertical in design, with a rectangular base and a small sculpture on top. This sculpture depicts a hunched dragon lying down with a fierce look. The entire piece is worn and polished by the party where it is held, by years or decades of use. The rectangular vertically-disposed base bears some beautiful ideograms carved by hand in one of its sides. These symbols are precisely and beautifully performed, and boast an elegant look. Over this base there is a pedestal carved with decorative oriental-style shapes. On top of the pedestal we can see the stone dragon that rests on it, a small and beautiful figure carved in a very realistic way. The beast is looking back with its jaws open; it shows a fierce expression while curling its tail backwards. At the seal's base we can see a hand-carved embossed inscription, designed to be printed with ink. The ideograms are wonderfully carved, with deep gaps that create a clear and neat printing. This base is partially dyed in red due to the pieces use and past life, as it was surely used to stamp red ink. For its elegance and ancient age, this amazing Chinese stamp will shine in a showcase with a great collection of oriental works of art. Measurements: Width: 3.5 cm. Height: 10.9 cm.
