Decorative and elegant vase made of true Chinese porcelain. The vase is in great condition and the porcelain is fully decorated by hand. This is an antique vase which dates from the beginning of the 20th century. The colorful and thorough decoration which covers the porcelain is highly remarkable. It is skillfully performed, with thorough detail. The white porcelain is not broken or cracked, and the vase has come to our days almost intact. This piece shows the furnace mark at its base: this mark guarantees that the vase is original and hand-made. If we turn the vase upside down we will see an ochre-colored ring at the base, due to the heat needed to fire the porcelain. The decoration consists of engraved motives, which have been delicately decorated. Each motive has been carefully drawn in black ink, and afterwards the artist painted them with a variety of tones. The decoration shows two scenes where the main characters are Chinese dignitaries dressed in traditional clothes. Each scene decorates one side of the vase, and they are surrounded by square frames. Around the frames, the porcelain is decorated with floral motives. The mouth and the base of the vase bear elegant Chinese abstract designs. The vase has two small handles, one at each side of the neck, in the shape of felines; they are green and are showing their long and red tongues. The beautiful decoration of this great piece is as attractive as its elegant shape. All these features, together with its great condition, turn this antique Chinese vase in a very beautiful and interesting article, perfect to complete a big collection of Eastern porcelain pieces. Measurements: 198 mm width x 380 mm height.
