Decorative set of Chinese porcelain pieces composed of an urn and two twin vases. The pieces are made of white and blue porcelain. This is an old-style set which faithfully reflects certain ancient Chinese wares aesthetic. It dates from the first half of the 20th century and is in good condition, though one of the vases has two slight cracks at the top. Nevertheless, this detail does not interfere with the pieces beauty and elegance. The set is hand-made of the best Chinese porcelain and shows the so-called furnace mark: a dark ochre tone which dyes the base of the pieces and is due to the heat produced during the firing process. The vases show a sober and straight design, which contrasts in an appealing way with the round shape of the urn. The three pieces are decorated in a way typical of some Chinese ware, with a white background and scenes, motives and figures painted in a dark blue color. The motives seem to have been hand-painted by a good artist and form vertical rows with marine elements (fish and sea-shells), flowers and plants, vases, furniture, buildingsThe empty spaces between the elements are also decorated with small drawings: intertwining circles, vegetal motives or symbols such as the arrow cross. Both the base and the top of the pieces are decorated with blue borders and floral motives. The upper border is more complex and elaborated than the bottom one, straighter and soberer. The urns cap is a very special element, because as well as being decorated in blue it has a small handle with the shape of a little animal, maybe a lion or a dog. This Chinese porcelain set is surely a first class decorative article and the most stylish room will be highlighted with its majestic presence.
