Colorful set of eight Chinese teaspoons made of fine hand-painted porcelain. This set was made in China for export. The teaspoons date from the 1950s and are in excellent condition. The porcelain is intact in spite of its delicacy and fragility, with no cracks or dents. The teaspoons are fully decorated by hand, showing images of dragons and different symbols. The great amount of colors used by the artist is really attention-drawing, and turns these teaspoons into a polychrome porcelain symphony. The set is composed of eight teaspoon with two different types of decoration. All the pieces boast a delicate metal edge which highlights their elegant design. Four teaspoons show a white background and the bowl is decorated with a hand-painted green dragon. The dragons tail goes on along the handle and the fantastic animal is surrounded by little bright red flames. The teaspoons silhouette is embellished by a black and white border that runs parallel to the golden edge. The other four teaspoons also bear a dragon in the bowl, this time a blue one. They are more colorful than their sisters, the dragon being surrounded by an oval border decorated in different colors. The teaspoons handles are green and show a design of scales made with thin black strokes. In the handle there are four circles in different colors which contain Chinese ideograms. The teaspoons with the green dragons bear a red stamp at the rear, with this inscription in capital letters: M. CHINA. The ones with the blue dragons boast rectangular stamps which say MADE IN CHINA. The set of teaspoons is quite stylish and refined, and at the same time is a very exotic piece with the best decorative tradition of Eastern art. These teaspoons are the best accessory for an elegant and stylish dining table. Measurements: 116 mm length x 46 mm height (from the handles end to the table).
