Antique Chinese plate made of blue and white porcelain, very probably dating from the 19th century (Qing Dynasty). This dynasty was the last of Chinese great emperor dynasties, and lasted several centuries since it began in 1664. Qing Dynasty ended in 1912, when Puyi (the last emperor, known as Kuantong Emperor)) abdicated. This lovely plate is in good condition though it shows a slight flaw in the edge. Nevertheless, in spite of this detail it maintains all its beauty and we can appreciate its delicate decorations in full splendor. The plates edge is decorated with nice copper metal enamel, which greatly harmonizes with the blue and white colors of the porcelain. It bears a floral pattern performed in different shades of dark blue. The flowers are quite simple and are painted in a very Oriental style, showing the artists skilful use of the stroke and the stain. The plate boasts a wonderful glaze with some bubbles, due to the traditional manufacturing of the piece and which provide it with an undeniable charm. If we turn the piece upside down we will appreciate a light brown color dying the base. This is the furnace mark, a dark color which dyes the porcelain when it is fired. This feature joins with the rest of this exclusive plates details to turn it into a very singular and delicate article, which will complete the most valuable collection of antique Chinese porcelains. Measurements: 290 mm diameter.
