Important Chinese piece made of blue and white porcelain. This article is made up of two parts, and it is possible a water-heater or an antique air-freshener. The piece dates from the 20th century, and is especially remarkable because of its beautiful decoration and the fine openwork of the base. The openwork is surely designed to let out the heat generated to heat the water, which probably was poured into the inside cylinder. This object is in very good condition and is a fine example of the Chinese blue and white porcelain technique, whose origins can be found in the ninth century and which nowadays is still produced, mainly for export. The outside of this curious and lovely item is decorated with vegetal-inspired abstract patterns, which are carefully disposed creating borders and images. As it has been stated before, the bottom openwork is really appealing because its fine making and the different shapes it creates. If we remove the upper part of this piece, we will discover a big white cylinder on which there is a wonderful blue drawing depicting two pheasants sitting on a flowery tree. It is a beautiful scene, with a high degree of detail and realism, with a bird that Chinese culture sometimes relates with the mythological Phoenix. If we turn the pieces base upside down, in the middle we will see a square-shaped Chinese blue stamp. As well as this interesting detail, the great condition of the porcelain is also remarkable: it has no cracks, dents or reparations. This items original look, beautiful decoration and big size turn it into a very singular piece, which will a real eye-catcher in the most special room. Measurements: 300 mm width x 535 mm height.
