This colorful Chinese porcelain piece is a very appealing article, with a lively decoration which will surely make it stand out in any room. It is hand-made of fine porcelain and dates from the 20th century. The base, the mouth and the lid show the furnace mark, a brownish color which dyes white porcelain and is due to the heat generated in the furnace during the firing process. This mark indicates that the piece is an artisanal work. If we turn it upside down we will discover the Kangxi mark, third emperor of Quing Dynasty and second of China, whose empire lasted from 1654 to 1722. The piece is not original from that era but does reproduces the style of some porcelains of those times. This is a beautiful white porcelain urn, profusely decorated with hand-painted motives which boast lively and bright colors. Yellow and pink are the most used ones, together with dark green. The body of the urn is decorated with four panels, each one with a different drawing: a jar, two birds of paradise, a group of flowers and birds and some jars and bowls containing flowers and fruits. The upper part bears the handles and four painted panels: two of them bear floral motives, one with a Chinese pink lion and the last with a red animal which looks like a gazelle. The lid is especially appealing. It is crowned by a Chinese lion painted in a bright green color, which is holding a big red ball with its front legs while sits on the back ones. The rest of the lid is decorated with bright and lively flower drawings. The two pieces, urn and lid, form a highly aesthetic set with a nice antique look and a hand-made finish, which will be perfect to decorate any room. It will provide any place with an attractive exotic touch that will transport its owner back in time, right into the Far East. Measurements: 180 mm width x 315 mm height.
