Stylized antique Chinese figure made of bone-colored faux ivory. The figure is standing on a base and dates from around 1900. The figures finish simulates ivory greatly and bears a delicate carving which reproduces the clothes creases, the figures hair and the face in detail. The surface is profusely hand-decorated with black ink, with strokes enhancing some details like the hair, the eyes and the clothes. The figure depicts a Chinese woman, sumptuously dressed and combed in a traditional way. The woman carries a delicate bunch of flowers in her left hand; the bunch is formed by three big flowers, probably roses. The figure is graciously bending back and to the right, and its stylized figure together with this movement turn it into a lovely figure with a singular charm. The delicate decoration of the womans blouse is quite remarkable, formed by fine floral motives and geometrical borders. The pedestal is black-lacquered and cylindrical in shape. It stands on four small legs. It is decorated with a series of wavy lines simulating sea waves. This delicate figure is a charming and stylized piece, fit to decorate a shelf or showcase with the most elegant Chinese antiques.Measurements: Height (without pedestal): 380 mm. Total height 450 mm.
