Wonderful set of two Chinese porcelain plates, twin pieces painted with a highly colorful decoration. These plates were made during the Guangxu era (1875-1908), when this emperor ruled over China. They are original pieces from that time, authentic examples from those days porcelain-making art. The plates are greatly preserved and show no cracks, dents or bumps; they are as decorative and beautiful as the first day. Their lovely floral decoration that includes Chinese ideograms, performed on a fuchsia background with a lot of colors, turns them into pieces of high timeless beauty. The plates are identical and designed to be exhibited together. Their front side is softly concave and shows a wide central area with fuchsia background, decorated with a lot of hand-painted motives. They are floral-inspired designs composed of flowers and leaves disposed in order in a symmetrical pattern, and painted in a variety of colors: pale yellow, blue and different shades of green. This decoration is framed by a bright yellow border with an oriental style classical fringe painted red, blue and green. If we turn the plates we will see that their back is decorated with delicate motives of flowers, volutes and leaves. In the center there is a Chinese inscription composed of six red ideograms, orderly disposed, which tells us that these plates were made during the reign of Guangxu. This emperor ruled over China from 1875 and 1908, and was the eleventh emperor of the Qing Dynasty and the ninth Qing emperor to rule over China. In practice he ruled only from 1889 to 1898, always under empress Cixi's influence. These highly beautiful plates will undoubtedly be the stars of any important collection of Chinese porcelain, and will embellish like no other the place where they are exhibited.Measurements: 200 mm diameter.
