Beautiful Pathé horn gramophone, 1915. Restored and working. Original Trumpet

This incredible horn gramophone is a real antique piece, in spite of its look. It was made in France in 1915 by Pathé Frères and is a highly decorative and functional item. The gramophone sounds like new and its motor has been fully cleaned and adjusted. It is very silent and its reproduction quality is excellent. The article has also been submitted to a careful and adequate restoration that has given it back its splendor. The polished brass horn is a highly remarkable piece: although it looks like new it is the original one, nearly one hundred years old and that has been thoroughly cleaned so it looks as spectacularly beautiful as when it was made.The gramophone is a piece by Pathé Frères, a company founded in 1896 by the brothers of the same name. As well as this kind of reproducers, the company also made cylinders and disks. In 1905 the firm created the famous logo depicting a Gallic rooster and in 1906 they abandoned the cylinder and phonograph production to make gramophones and disks. This wonderful model is an example of the quality articles they made and commercialized, and is still a precise item in perfect working order.The gramophone box is made of solid oak wood, and both the bottom and top edges are adorned with a nice hand-carved fringe with volutes. The original French polish finish has been carefully restored so it shines again, looking warm and deep as this kind of varnish usually does. The arm that holds the reproducer is made of copper, whose shiny reddish color makes a nice contrast with the lovely carved silver-metal arm and with the polished brass horn. This last piece is precisely the most remarkable part of this gramophone, and its only presence turns it into a unique article. At the front side of the box we can see a small brass plate with the companys name Pathé, the logo with the rooster and the following inscription: TYPE º020 03775.This incredible Pathé gramophone is a striking decorative item that can also be used to play records and enjoy the delightful sound of a vintage reproducer.Measurements: Box: Width: 375 mm.
