This curious image originated in 1899, when the British Gramophone Company purchased the picture by Francis Barraud depicting the dog Nipper listening to his deceased masters voice emanating from the horn a cylinder phonograph. The artist had to change the reproducer and paint a gramophone it its place in order to sell it to the company. The firm did not use the image until 1910. The trademarks ownership is currently divided among different countries. This gramophone boasts the classic design of the time, with all the charm of vintage reproducers. Attached to the back of the box there is an enameled arm that supports the horn and the reproducer. This is an original Exhibition reproducer, a classic device of HMV gramophones.
