Victor Monarch Gramophone with Trumpet 'Morning Glory'. United States, Circa 1905

This gorgeous antique gramophone is a collectors piece, a real Victor Monarch with hand-painted horn that preserves its original finish. The gramophone works perfectly and provides a clean and neat sound. It is in very good condition and all its component parts are original. The most remarkable and outstanding piece is surely the metal horn, enameled in black and with hand-painted red and green flowers. This decoration is known as Morning Glory and in this case is original and is very well preserved. The gramophones horn also bears a circular sticker with the famous image of a dog listening to a gramophone, accompanied by the inscription Victor Talking Machine. This firm was a record company founded by Emile Bernier (the man who invented the gramophone) and Eldridge Johnson that remained active from 1901 to 1929, when it was sold to the RCA and changed its name to RCA Victor. The firm had the image rights for the USA and Latin America, and that is the reason whit the classic HMV logo can be seen in Victor gramophones. The oak wooden box that hides the motor and supports the turntable is greatly preserved and boasts a warm golden Brown color under the shiny finish. The arm that holds the trumpet and the reproducer is a beautiful piece, enameled in black and with delicate filigree decoration in gold. The reproduction is an original Exhibition with serial number 67425. The box has a golden metal plate attached to one side with the image of the dog and the gramophone, the inscription His Masters Voice, the model (M, corresponding to Monarch) and the serial number 35454. Its amazing look and great sound turn this gramophone into a very special item that will draw everyones attention in the home of the most demanding music lover.
