This suitcase gramophone, in very good condition and wonderful working order, is a model designed by His Masters Voice in the 1930s. The device is very well preserved and emits a impressive sound, being able to play gramophone records with an incredibly good performance. It is the model 97C, a design with a greatly preserved black faux-leather covered suitcase. The article looks magnificent and its first-class sound turns it into an exclusive piece. All its component parts are original and is a highly interesting item for any collector or music lover. Inside the cover we find a sticker with the famous HMV logo in perfect condition. The famous image with the dog listening to a gramophone is printed in full color, together with the companys name and location: Middlesex, England. The firms real name was The Gramophone & Typewriter Company, but after buying the famous picture painted by Francis Barraud in 1899, the brand name became more and more popular and the company eventually was known as His Masters Voice (HMV) o as the translation of this name in different languages. The original picture was painted by the brother of the dogs owner three years after the animal died. The gramophone we can see in these images is a good example of the quality of HMV products. The suitcase is solid and compact, and inside the motor provides a silent and reliable operation. The gramophone preserves the original reproducer or soundbox with the inscription MADE IN ENGLAND clearly engraved at the back. The front side is adorned with the embossed logo of the dog and the gramophone. The arm that holds the reproducer; the crank and the rest of the mobile parts are also original pieces.
