This lovely horn gramophone was made in the early 20th century (circa 1910) and has survived to our days in very good condition. It comes from Central Europe and has an elegant solid wooden box and a gorgeous bone-white-lacquered horn that boasts a high decorative beauty. The gramophones motor is in very good condition and working order, providing a nice sound. The box is square in shape and boasts a sober design. It is made of solid oak wood and its surface is protected by a warm and discreet finish that provides the wood with a deep golden walnut color. It has molded base and top, with the corners decorated with grooved panels. This design looks elegant and timeless and makes a great contrast with the big white horn. The arm and elbow that support the horn and the soundbox (reproducer) are made of chromed metal; the soundbox is original from the time and bears the printed inscription MILL OPERA CONCERT SCHALLDOSE. The gramophones motor bears the Thoren's logo engraved in one of its metal parts: a Greek cross with an anchor inside accompanied by the words SWISS MADE. But surely the most outstanding element of this beautiful device is the big horn, made of metal sheet and decorated with embossed art deco-style details. The white finish is the original one and is in quite good condition. Quite elegant and stately-looking, this wonderful gramophone is bound to shine in the classiest room.
