This impressive antique horn gramophone is a British article that dates from the 1920s. It is a collectors piece for its great beauty, exceptional condition and incredible working order. The gramophone has been carefully restored so every component part looks great. The motor has also been dismantled and fully cleansed so nowadays the gramophone sounds wonderfully and boasts an impeccable working order. The box is made of solid mahogany wood; the wood displays its fine reddish brown color under an attractive satin finish. On its front side we can see a rectangular molded frame with a sticker inside; this sticker bears a printed inscription that reads ROYAL MONTROSE. The sticker is blue, yellow and black and is in perfect condition. The metal component parts that make up the gramophones mechanism have also been restored so they look great: the elbow and the arm boast a fine black finish that provides the device with style. The reproducer or soundbox is an original Polydor Electrix and bears this name at the back, in embossed letters. On the other hand, the gramophone´s motor is signed by the brand Columbia and bears the inscription MADE IN ENGLAND engraved in the metal. Last but not least, the amazing metal horn that crowns the device boasts a gorgeous emerald-green-lacquered finish embellished with golden lines; these colors combine perfectly with the warm color of the wooden box. Its striking beauty turns this gramophone into an exclusive piece, worthy of a great lover of antique music machines. Measurements: Box: Side: 12.9 in / 33 cm. Height: 12.2 in / 31 cm.
