Amazing antique horn gramophone phonograph made in England in the early 20th century, extremely beautiful and with high quality sound. The first thing that calls our attention in this wonderful device is surely its great design, but also its impressive condition. The gramophone is carefully restored, always respecting its ancient age and antique feeling so it boasts the best look possible. It has a double spring motor that plays three complete records without having to turn the crank again. The machine has been cleansed and fine-tuned and the EXHIBITION reproducer has been completely rebuilt, so nowadays it provides an incredible sound and a high quality reproduction. This model was manufactured by the famous record company His Masters Voice (abbreviated as HMV). The company was founded in 1897 as the UK partner of the United States Gramophone Company. It was founded by William Barry Owen and Trevor Williams, and during the last decades of the 19th century it grew rapidly until it became a powerful firm. In 1899, Owen bought the painting His Masters Voice and its reproduction rights and turned it into the brand name and logo. Shortly both became immensely popular and in the end, the firm changed its name (The Gramophone Company) by the pictures title. The gramophone has an oak wooden box with a nice French-polish finish. It has a beautiful molded base and the corners are adorned with hand-carved wooden details. The box is connected to different metal parts: the crank, the elbow, the arm and the turntable. The metal they are made of looks wonderful and shines like new. The reproducer or soundbox is an original Exhibition with serial number 354087. On the other hand, the gorgeous big metal horn is finished with beautiful dark red enamel adorned with delicate golden nerves. The imposing presence of this antique gramophone will make it stand out in the stateliest house. Measurements: Box: Side: 12.9 in /33 cm. Height: 12.9 in / 33 cm. Horn: Length: 29.2 in / 75 cm.
