Very nice working horn gramophone. Central Europe, Circa 1915

Amazing antique horn gramophone with a sober and classic design and in perfect working order. This lovely device is extremely remarkable because of its excellent condition, with the box and the metal components fully restored in order to preserve its great beauty. The devices motor is a Parlophone model of high quality and impeccable operation, with the brand logo engraved in its iron body. Thanks to this motor and its quality component parts, the gramophone can play antique records with an exceptional sound. The wooden box and the metal pieces have been professionally restored so nowadays the gramophone boasts an impressive look. The box is made of solid oak wood and shows off its beautiful golden color in perfect condition, embellished by the delicate veneer typical of this kind of wood. The French polish finish that protects its surface enhances its beauty with its warm satin glow. The chromed-metal parts (the arm that connects the horn and the reproducer and the elbow that holds them both) are also greatly preserved; they are original from the time too. The reproducer or soundbox is a Linguaphone model, with the brand name printed on the golden background in a beautiful black lettering. The impressive metal horn is connected to the arm that holds the reproducer, and is probably the most outstanding element of the gramophone. It is conical in shaped, with straight mouth and a lovely grooved decoration engraved in the metal. The horn is protected with an attractive lacquered finish in a fine red-pink color with a subtle tone gradation. The mouths inner edge, decorated with an engraved fringe, has been embellished with a delicate green and golden patina; these colors combine perfectly with the general lacquered finish.
