This gorgeous suitcase gramophone is a real landmark in the history of music technology. It is a His Masters Voice (HMV) gramophone model 101-G luxury edition. It is in impressive condition and works wonderfully. The motor has been checked and cleaned to guarantee an impeccable condition, and nowadays it is a real pleasure for the user to reproduce antique records in this singular device. The gramophone is mounted in a blue suitcase with chromed-metal metal pieces, quite well preserved and with a bright blue leather finish that increases its decorative power. Inside the gramophones cover, on the lap designed for storing the records we can see the famous brand logo with the inscription La Voix de Son Maitre Cie. Fse. DU GRAMOPHONE. This means that the article mas made for the French market. His Masters Voice is the brand name adopted by The Gramophone Company in 1899 after buying the picture of the same title painted by Francis Barraud. The image depicts the dog Nipper listening to his dead masters voice. Curiously enough, the company decided to buy the picture only after the painter changed the phonograph that appeared in it for a horn gramophone of their own. The decal and the inscription are in impeccable condition, perfectly visible and with no traces of wear at all. The gramophones reproducer is also an original HMV piece with the brand and manufacturers name clearly engraved in the metal. We can also read the words IMPORTÉ DANGLETERRE (Imported from England). The blue leather covering is in amazing condition, with no torn or worn parts, and so is the chrome-plated ironwork: the suitcase latches, the reinforcement pieces and all the mechanisms component parts. This beautiful and antique HMV gramophone will be the starring piece in the home of a music lover. Measurements (Closed): Width: 15.7 in / 40 cm. Height: 5,5 in / 14 cm. Depth:11 in / 28 cm.
