Antique gramophone made in England by the prestigious brand His Masters Voice in the 1920s. The gramophone consists of an impressive box made of solid mahogany wood, in good condition. The motor has been carefully adjusted, cleaned and fine-tuned and the spring has been changed by a new one. This means that nowadays the gramophone works and sounds wonderfully and can keep on like this for many years. At the back of the box we can see a small drill that if need be, can be closed and concealed by our restorer. Inside the lid we can see the famous His Masters Voice logo, clearly printed on the wood in full color and in wonderful condition. The image depicts a framed picture with a dog listening attentively to the sound coming from a horn gramophone made by the brand. This logo was painted by Francis Barraud in 1899 and depicts the dog Nipper listening to his dead masters voice that comes out from a phonograph. Barraud offered the picture to the Gramophone Company and they acquired it after asking the painter to change the phonograph for a gramophone of their own. Part of this gramophones striking beauty is due to the amazing wooden box that contains it. The mahogany wood boasts its deep reddish color, enhanced by the warm glow of the French polish that protects it. As for the motor, all the component parts are original including the reproducer or soundbox. This piece bears the engraved inscription HIS MASTERS VOICE Nº 4 together with the manufacturers name. Under the crank we can see the serial number 3764 engraved in the wood; this number appears again at the top, by the turntable. Antique, decorative and with an exceptional sound, this HMV gramohpone is bound to shine in the most elegant living room. Measurements: Width: 14.5 in / 37 cm. Height: 12.5 in / 32 cm.
