Beautiful Antique Antique Gramophone with Enameled Metal Trumpet. Central Europe, Circa 1915

This small gramophone is an antique and charming piece because of its nostalgic design and its past history. Made in Central Europe, it is around one century old and has survived to our days in very good condition. The gramophone stands out for its wonderful metal horn, painted with blue enamel with darker shadows and light ochre border. As well as being so nice, the gramophone works fine: its motor has been revised to guarantee a perfect performance. It is quite silent and sounds wonderfully, letting its user enjoy the unmistakable sound of turn-of-the-century records. The gramophones box is made of solid beech wood, dyed and finished in a great reddish mahogany tone. It has an ample base that provides it with elegance and stability. The front side has a brownish mark with a symbol surrounded by a chain-shaped fringe. The finish that protects the wood is well preserved and provides the material with a beautiful glow. At one side we can see the metal crank with wooden handle, also in good condition. The set composed of the arm with the reproducer, the horn and the elbow that attaches them both to the box is gorgeous. The arm is made of copper and has been adapted to the mechanism; now it fulfills its duty perfectly. The reproducer or soundbox is made of metal and bears a central embossed symbol depicting an anchor; at its back we can see the engraved inscription SWISS MADE. The elbow that supports the arm and the horn is made of engraved metal and stands out for its fine art-deco style design. As stated before, the horn is a stunning piece made of metal sheet and with an awesome cobalt-blue finish, with darker shadows in different places. Measurements: Box: Side: 13.7 in / 35 cm.
