This amazing antique gramophone is an original His Masters Voice model 101.N. It was made in England in the 1920s, between 1925 and 1936. The gramophone is in excellent condition, as beautiful as when it was manufactured and in wonderful working order: the motor has been dismantled and cleansed in order to guarantee it. All the pieces and component parts are original, including the reproducer. If we open the suitcase containing the gramophone, inside the cover we will see the brand logo together with an inscription with the former distributors name (WILSON PECK SHEFFIELD & NOTTINGHAM). The decal is in perfect condition and shows the famous scene with a dog listening carefully to a horn gramophone. The original picture was the work of Francis Barraud, depicting the dog Nipper listening to his dead masters voice coming from a phonograph. After trying to sell the picture to the Edison Phonograph Company, Barraud took it to The Gramophone Company: the firm bought the picture titled His Masters Voice in 1899 on the condition that the painted changed the phonograph for a horn gramophone of their own. Together with the decal we can see the manufacturers name, The Gramophone Company Ltd. Hayes, Middlesex, and the brand name His Masters Voice. The gramophone keeps all its parts: reproducer, arm, turntable, crank and motor. They can be easily assembled in order to play the records. The suitcase is covered by black leather: it is quite well preserved and so is the ironwork, the latches and the leather handle. Elegant, sober and with a wonderful sound, this His Masters Voice gramphone is a collectors piece that boasts a timeless beauty. Measurements (Closed): Width: 15,7 in / 40 cm. Height: 5,5 in / 14 cm. Depth: 11 in / 28 cm.
