Antique His Master's Voice Monarch Junior Gramophone. USA, Circa 1904

This awesome horn phonograph - gramophone was made in the USA early 20th century (circa 1904) by The phonograph - gramophone & Typewriter Company (later, His Master's Voice). It's the model Monarch Junior and it is in excellent working order: the motor has been carefully dismantled and fine-tuned in order to guarantee its good performance. Currently the phonograph - gramophone works wonderfully and sounds great. Both the wooden box and the impressive brass horn have been restored and the phonograph - gramophone boasts an impeccable look in spite of being a really ancient piece. One of the boxs sides bears a sticker with the manufacturing companys name and the countries where it had got the patent rights. The UK Grampohone Company was a record company and phonograph - gramophone manufacturer founded in the UK in 1897 by William B. Owen and Trevor Williams as a subsidiary branch of The phonograph - gramophone Company, a US firm created by Emile Berliner in 1892. In 1900 Owen got the manufacturing rights for the Lambert typewriters and for some years the word typewriter was included in the companys name, though soon the firm would give up making these machines and just focused on phonograph - gramophones and records. The phonograph - gramophone that we can see in these images has a solid oak wooden box, with molded top and base and delicate hand-carved decorative fringes. The wood looks great thanks to the fine satin finish that protects it. The arm that connects the horn with the reproducer (and the elbow that supports them) is made of chrome-plated metal, shiny and even. The reproducer is an Exhibition in excellent condition. As for the horn, it is the original one and has been fully recovered in order to boast the magnificent appearance that we can see in the photographs.
