This horn phonograph - gramophone, an antique model with a surprising decorative power, is a His Masters Voice design in good condition and working order. It was made in France circa 1910 by a subsidiary branch of the famous British company. The motor has been dismantled and fully cleaned so nowadays the phonograph - gramophone sounds wonderfully and makes it possible to play records just like when it was made. All the component parts are original except for the screw that attaches the horn to the arm that connects it with the reproducer. This detail, though, is of little importance and does not interfere with the phonograph - gramophones good look. The front side of the box shows the remains of an old sticker with the famous HMV logo. The image depicts a dog listening to his dead masters voice from a record played in a horn phonograph - gramophone. This image was painted by Francis Barraud in 1899 and portrayed the dog Nipper listening to his masters voice (the painters brother) from a horn phonograph - gramophone. The pictures title was precisely His Masters Voice; it was bought by The phonograph - gramophone Company after Barraud changed the original phonograph for one of their horn phonograph - gramophones. The phonograph - gramophones box is made of solid oak wood and bears a beautiful French-polish finish in very good condition. Attached to one of its sides we can see the elbow that supports the arm connecting the horn and the reproducer. This is a magnificent iron piece, enameled in black and decorated with golden motives, that looks really great. The elbow supports the silvery metal arm with the reproducer, a well-preserved Exhibition model. At the other end we can see the Morning Glory horn, made of black-lacquered metal with golden nerves. As impressive as nostalgic, this phonograph - gramophone is bound to shine in the dining room of a music lover with a passion for antiques. Measurements: Box: Side: 28.5 cm. Elbows Height: 26 cm.
