Antique horn gramophone in Excellent Condition. France, Circa 1920

This lovely horn gramophone draws our attention for its ancient age, beautiful design and great condition. It has original wooden box, Saturn reproducer and a great morning-glory horn with swam-neck-shaped elbow. It was made in France circa 1920 and sounds wonderfully; it can be used to play antique gramophone records, providing a clear and neat sound. The motor is not the original one but is antique and works well. This gramophone was designed to work inserting coins though today it mounts a normal crank mechanism. The coin slot remains but does not work at all. The gramophones box is made of solid wood, whose surface boasts a great golden brown color with different shades. Its deep veneer provides the machine with beauty and so does the protecting satin finish. At the top, beside the turntable we can see the stated brass coin slot. There is also a metal plate with the name and address of the Marseille shop where it was sold decades ago. At the front side we can see a foldable brass compartment designed to store the needles. The keyhole is not original and the lock does not work. The elbow supporting the arm that connects the reproducer and the horn is made of black-lacquered iron. The arm is made of golden brass and is connected to a Saturn reproducer, made in Germany and in great condition. Over the arm stand the gorgeous metal horn, whose engraved and blue-enameled decoration reminds us of a peacocks tail. The horn is a very original piece, standing on a long vertical piece that provides the gramophone with a really interesting look.
