Awesome His Masters Voice horn gramophone in excellent condition and great working order. It is a Monarch IV (4) gramophone, a piece made for the French market. It was manufactured in the early 20th century (circa 1910) and it has a silent motor that provides an impressive sound. The motor has been dismantled and fully cleaned and fine-tuned to guarantee an optimal performance. All the gramophones component parts are original and remain operative, turning this article into a real collectors piece. At one side of the box we can see a sticker with the famous brand logo and the inscriptions MARQUE DE FABRIQUE LA VOIX DE SOIN MAITRE (His Masters Voice in French). The popular brand was inspired by the picture by Francis Barraud in the late 19th century, bought by The Gramophone Company to use it as their brand image. The picture showed the dog Nipper listening to his dead masters voice coming from a phonograph. The company acquired the painting and the reproduction rights on the condition that Barraud changed the phonograph for one of their horn gramophones. The article that we can see in the images has solid oak wooden box with a fine French-polish finish. The front decal is well preserved and the brand name is clearly visible. The gramophones reproducer is an Exhibition, an original high-quality HMV model in great condition. On the other hand, the morning-glory horn is made of black-lacquered metal with golden edge and nerves. It preserves the original finish in quite good condition with the nice patina left by the trace of time and use. This amazing horn gramophone is an exceptional item with an undeniably attractive and great decorative power. Measurements: Box: Side: 36 cm. Height: 16 cm. Elbows Height: 36 cm. Horn: Length: 63 cm.
