Spectacular Spanish Gramophone His Master's Voice Mod. 125. Working Very Well. 1922

Wonderful antique table gramophone in very good condition and exceptional working order. It is a Model 125 gramophone by His Masters Voice, an exclusive and gorgeous luxury piece. The box is made of mahogany wood and boasts a stunning beauty, while the motor is completely original and preserves all its component parts. This gramophone was sold in Spain in 1922, being one of the few units of this model commercialized in this country. Only 2294 units in mahogany were sold. The mechanism has been dismantled and fine-tuned so today it works greatly and provides a fantastic sound. It we lift the top cover, inside we will see a decal with the manufacturers name and brand. It is in wonderful condition: it depicts a beautiful picture framed by golden volutes with the popular image of the dog Nipper listening to his dead masters voice from a horn gramophone. The logo includes the following inscription: His Master's Voice Marca Registrada Compañía del Gramófono Soc. An. Española (His Masters Voice Trade Mark The Gramophone Company Spanish Ltd. Company). These words indicate that the article was made by the Spanish subsidiary branch of The Gramophone Company, a firm that in 1899 bought the picture of the dog and turned it into their brand image, using the paintings title as their brand name too. The decal is complete and looks great. It is full of color and preserves the original inks in perfect condition. The same can be said about the mahogany case that contains the gramophone the noble material is really well preserved and keeps the lovely satin finish that enhances the dark red color of the wood. The metalwork is original and so are the arm and the reproducer. This piece is a His Masters Voice Nº 2 model, made in England and in perfect working order. At the front side of the cabinet there are two small doors that let the sound out through the speaker when opened.
