Very Rare Antique Mantel Gramophone with Cabin Shape. Germany, 1928

This curious article is an antique and rare table gramophone with a charming handmade cottage-shaped wooden box. It was made in Germany and it's dated at the base as 1928, it has been completely restored in order to regain the wonderful look that we can appreciate in the images. The gramophones motor and component parts have also been cleaned and fine-tuned so today the article provides an amazing sound and an excellent working order. Its original design and great condition turn this piece into an exclusive item, quite rare and of a state-of-art quality. At first sight, the gramophones box is just like a wooden dolls house. It is entirely made by hand with small rectangular pieces for the walls and tile-shaped pieces for the roof. The restoration work has substituted the missing pieces and has strengthened the loose or worn parts. The roof is finished with a light red dye and the rest of the box is protected with an elegant satin walnut varnish. The window frames bear a lighter finish that creates a lovely contrast. It we open the cover (the cottages roof) we will reach the gramophone that hides inside. It is a fully original device that preserves all its original component parts. It mounts a Concept reproducer and includes greatly preserved silvery metal parts. In order to play the records, the front doors must be fully opened; behind them remains the original fabric covering, beautiful and in good condition. The wooden base bears the year of manufacture and the serial number engraved in its surface: 1928 10.
