Decorative Horn Gramophone Brand Eternola Portablofon manufactured in Czechoslovakia in 1925. It consists of an original octagonal box in quality wood with glossy finish that makes it very beautiful aesthetically. Undoubtedly it is a very well made box, very different from the rectangular boxes that we usually find in other type of gramophones. The box also has the particularity that it opens by means of a double hinge located at the back, which allows easy access to the mechanism. In the front part there is a lock... With the original key! Both the precious case and the striking horn make this gramophone a magnificent piece. Attached reproducer of the brand Armin Sternberg, Budapest in good state of conservation, something to take into account if we want to listen to melodies from the first day. The crank located on the right side is totally original and in very good condition. In this piece stands out without a doubt the precious aluminum horn with an undulating profile in an intense red color, which makes it a truly beautiful piece. The horn has been restored. In the upper part of one side of the box we find the gramophone mark: ETERNOLA PORTABLOFON, in addition to the serial number: 292213. This fantastic piece has excellent aesthetic and functional characteristics. The mechanism is in very good condition, perfectly oiled and ready to use. It attaches several records and needles, which will allow you to listen to music from the first day. The gramophone will be a tough competitor of the phonograph when the German Emile Berliner invented it in 1887. It was an innovative reproducer device not based on the cylinder invented by the well-known Edison, but on that round surface despised by the father of the phonograph. With the gramophone, the recording was developed laterally, through the groove, instead of the up and down movement of the phonograph. Between the record and the cylinder there would be a bloody struggle, which would finally win the record thanks to an aggressive advertising campaign that would make this format get more and more followers. A very decorative piece! Completely different from the usual gramophones.
