Impressive gramophone made by His Masters Voice brand around 1906-1907. It is model Monarch nº 9, which stands out because its lovely box made of oak wood with reliefs on each side. The gramophone has a spectacular flower-shaped horn, made of metal and which still keeps most of its original varnish, in transparent red lacquer. The device is in good condition. It has two springs and works perfectly. The varnish of the box is almost perfect, and with its shine and warmth it enhances the nice woods veneer and its intense golden color. The relief on each side shows a scallop, flanked by two symmetrical vegetal motives which make up an elegant and stylized design. There are columns carven in each corner, and the base is made of two simple moldings. The crank keeps a beech wood handle, also in quite good condition. The beautiful design of the bracket which joins the reproducer and the horn is also remarkable, made of nickel-plated metal. The reproducer is the model EXHIBITION, and on it we can see the inscription VICTOR TALKING MATCH. CO. CAMDEM N. J. On the rear of the box, just under the place where the arm is fixed to the wood, we can see the rest of a sticker which probable showed the brand and the original dealer of the gramophone. Apart from this detail, the piece is in quite good condition, both aesthetical and operational, and it has all the original mechanisms. This fact turns it into a magnificent piece from early 20th century, as beautiful as functional. Gramophone measurements: 330 mm base x 760 mm width x 595 mm (horn diameter).
