Antique and luxurious His Masters Voice gramophone from 1915. This beautiful item is an original His Masters Voice article from the beginning of the 20th century. It is a Senior Monarch model and it provides an excellent quality of sound. The motor is extremely silent and the sound comes out neatly and clearly. It lets the user reproduce a whole record and even more. His Masters Voice is a well-known brand which makes audio material. It was established in 1889, when the Gramophone and Typewriter Company bought a picture by Francis Barraud which showed a dog listening to his masters voice coming out of a gramophone. The image and the title became the logo and the name of the brand, and we can see both in the brass plate attached to the front side of the box. This gramophone is a luxury model with wooden horn and hand-carved box, made of solid oak wood. The corners of the box are carved simulating columns, while the sides show moldings and rectangular hollow panels. It is a simple and very elegant decoration. The brass plate attached to the front side is engraved with the following inscription: Victor Made By Victor Talking Machine Co. His Masters Voice. Patented in US and Foreign Countries. Camdem New Jersey USA. There are also two empty fields for the type and the serial number. The motor and the reproducer are the original ones, like the rest of the parts except for the copper elbow that connects the arm and the reproducer. Nevertheless this is a minor detail, being much more remarkable the fluid and silent working of the mechanism. Maybe the horn will be one of the most attractive parts of this magnificent gramophone. It is made of thin and wide wood veneers, dyed and colored in some parts to make an attractive geometrical design. It is a very special detail, as the horns are usually made of metal which has been painted to simulate wood. One more reason to be dazzled by this wonderful vintage gramophone, the perfect complement to decorate the house of any lover of music and quality antiques. Measurements: 345 mm base (width) x 550 mm diameter (horn mouth) x 700 mm (total width).
