Sober and attractive His Masters Voice gramophone, made by the famous company in the 1920s-30s. This article shows a design typical from those years, especially if we consider the motive cut in the front wood panel. His Masters Voice is a motto adopted by the Gramophone and Typewriter Company in 1.889, after buying a picture by F. Barraud with the same title where there was a dog listening to a gramophone. The image also became the brands logo. This item is hundred per cent original and is in no way a reproduction. This is Model 130, which shows major developments when compared with older models. This gramophone has automatic start and stop systems, just like modern record players have. The whole mechanism is in perfect condition and working order, providing a surprisingly good sound quality and with scarcely any sound coming from the motor. The winding mechanism lasts enough as to let the user play a complete record and even more. The front side of the box shows elegant openwork with a nice art déco design. The gaps are protected with dull red fabric. This gaps are designed to let the sound out through an inside loudspeaker. Precisely into the cover, just over the plate, we can read the following sentence: Close lid whilst playing. Also, there is a sticker label with the brands logo and name. Both stickers are perfectly preserved. This beautiful gramophone is undoubtedly a pioneer in the field of music reproduction devices, and has survived to the present in perfect condition and working order just to keep on delighting all the lovers of music and vintage articles. Measurements: 440 mm width x 650 mm height (open).
