Antique Colibri pocket gramophone made in Belgium in 1930, in good condition and excellent working order. This is one of the smallest portable gramophones ever made, with a surprising and ingenious design that makes it possible to play standard-size records in spite of being so small. The gramophone that we can see in the photographs is a small metal case with black leatherette covering. Outside the case mounts a real leather handle attached with silvery metal fittings with the COLIBRI name engraved in its surface. The gramophone bears a suitcase fastener, in perfect working order. Once opened, inside the suitcase we find the arm with the reproducer and the crank. These pieces must be connected in their respective places in order to operate the device. The component parts are made of silvery metal and are very well preserved, with scarcely any signs of wear or rust. They all fit perfectly and enable an easy manipulation. The black leatherette covering is also in very good condition, with no torn or worn parts and showing off an even surface. The gramophone motor has been cleaned and fine-tuned to guarantee a flawless operation; the old spring has equally been replaced. This fact provides a perfect working order: the records sound loud and clear. The gramophone mounts an original reproducer made by the company and with the name COLIBRI printed in big white letters on a black background. The undeniable charm of this antique Colibri pocket gramophone turns it into a very special piece, perfect to be exhibited and to play nostalgic old-time records too.
