Antique Limania Suitcase Gramophone. Czechoslovakia, 1930s

Antique portable or travel gramophone made in Czechoslovakia in 1930, in very good condition and perfect working order. This device stands out for its fine and sober design and excellent working order. It preserves all its original component parts and pieces; the motor is also the original. Its design is sober and compact and at the same time it boasts an undeniable charm; this gramophone is surely a collectors item with a remarkable decorative power. The square-shaped suitcase is made of sturdy solid wood. It is fully covered of faux crocodile skin of a fine light brown shade. The inside and outside covering provides the gramophone with a very special touch: its eye-catching look makes a strong contrast with the articles sober square design. The faux leather remains in great condition and shows no signs of wear or torn parts. The suitcase preserves the original leather handle, somewhat worn but still fulfilling its duty. The metalwork and the fasteners are made of silvery metal and are quite well preserved too. If we open the suitcase, inside we find a black-lacquered wooden box with the turntable ontop. The motor is located into the box and remains unseen. Under the turntable and at one of the suitcases sides there is a small door that hides the speaker. The arm and the crank can be fitted in their respective places in order to start the gramophone: they are both made of silvery metal and look great. Te arm is connected to the original reproducer, which bears the brand name printed in white letters. Just by the turntable there is an original circular metal plate with the LIMANIA brand logo. The plate is well preserved and boasts a really attractive design. For its rareness, its great look and its ancient age, this amazing antique Limania portable gramophone will shine in the dining room of a good lover of music and old-time devices.
