Extraordinary rare and antique Spanish His Masters Voice gramophone Model 13-C. This amazing item was made in Spain in 1920 and is in an almost flawless condition. The three-spring motor is a first-class model and works perfectly, making it possible to play old-time records with an exceptional sound quality. The amazing solid wooden horn is totally original and remains in good condition. The gramophone case is a great example of the decorative style that was at its peak at the moment and an example of the marvelous HMV gramophones phonographs that were made in Spain at the beginning of the 20th century. Made of solid oak wood, it combines light-colored burl side panels with art-deco-style corners and openwork pieces. At the front side we can see a central wooden pane with the brand name and logo, in very good condition and really beautiful. The boxs sides mount hand-carved solid-wooden panels with abstract symmetrical motifs. The box bears a finely-preserved French-polish finish, shiny and warm. The silvery-metal arm mounts an original reproducer by The Gramophone Company, while at the other end it is connected to the outstanding oak-wooden horn which is adorned with a discreet and stylish carved detail. This is one of the rarest, scarce and quoted models of the already rare, scarce and quoted gramophones-phonographs manufactured by His Masters Voice in Spain. History of His Masters Voice Inside the cover we find the famous brand logo with the inscription HIS MASTERS VOICE clearly printed in golden lettering. The brand was created in 1899 from a picture by Francis Barraud depicting the dog Nipper listening to his dead owners voice coming from a phonograph. The Gramophone Company bought the picture, but before they told Barraud to change the phonograph for a gramophone of their own. The rest is history: the image became worldly famous and the firm eventually changed its company name for the brand name.
