Striking antique Spanish His Masters Voice gramophone (His Master's Voice in Spain) with wooden horn and boasting an amazing design. The gramophone is in great working order: the motor has been cleaned in order to guarantee a perfect performance. The sound quality is really exceptional; this turns this gramophone into the best ally to play old-time records. The item is fully original from the time, and though it shows an ancient repair (an antique weld in the arm - see pictures ), this intervention was not bound to mend a broken part but to seal some small crack or hole. The gramophones box is made of wood and shows off a fine reddish finish. The recessed panels decorated with modernist-style marquetry on burl veneer background stand out over the bright colored wooden structure. The side to which the metal elbow is screwed bears an original decal with the famous image of the dog Nipper and the brand name His Master's Voice. It is in almost perfect condition. The metal piece bears the serial number 33279 engraved in the surface. The turntable is covered with the original felt piece, something very rare in old gramophones. Near the reproducer we can see the antique logo of The Gramphone Company, depicting an angel playing a record with a feather. The wooden horn is wonderfully preserved and is a really impressive piece. This singular and antique Spanish His Master's Voice gramophone model 5 is a real museum piece, worthy to belong to the best collector. Measurements: Box: Side: 15 in / 37.5 cm. The Gramophone Company bought the picture, but before they told Barraud to change the phonograph for a gramophone of their own. The rest is history: the image became worldly famous and the firm eventually changed its company name for the brand name.
