Wonderful antique German or Austrian gramophone or phonograph, made circa 1915 and in amazing condition. This is quite a big item which preserves all its original component parts and pieces (except for the felt that covers the turntable). The gramophone looks really good and remains in great working order: the motor works really fine and makes it possible to enjoy a fantastic, loud and clear sound. It is a Swiss double-spring motor, a quality mechanism in excellent condition. If we turn the device outside down, at the motors base we will discover the inscription SWISS MANUFACTURE. The gramophones box combines two types of noble woods: mahogany structure and light-colored oak panels. The mixture of the two shades creates a stylish and decorative effect. The wood bears a fine French-polish finish that provides it with a warm and deep glow. One of the sides bears a nailed golden-metal brass with the profile of W. A. Mozart and the embossed name of the musician. The arm, reproducer and horn set is connected to the box through a silvery-metal elbow decorated with a discreet and elegant embossed floral motif. The arm is also made of silvery metal. It is connected to an English diaphragm reproducer which has been adapted to the gramophone. At the back of the reproducer we can see the engraved inscription PROV.PAT. 5450-28 ENGLAND. The horn is also quite a remarkable piece, a magnificent morning glory design with the original finish (a matt golden enamel) in great condition. This antique German or Austrian horn gramophone is an exceptional item for its gorgeous look and amazing sound. Dimensions: Box: Side: 16.93 in / 43 cm. Height: 9.45 in / 24 cm.
