Antique Central European horn gramophone-phonograph made circa 1915 in Germany or Switzerland, in very good condition and excellent working order. This fine device has a solid wooden box quite well preserved. The front side is decorated with an elegant Pompeiian-style motif composed of two rectangles with schematic flowery bands. This decoration is performed in subtle transparent colors with black outlines and remains in amazing condition. The gramophones motor is a Thorens model in good condition, quite silent and able to provide a loud and clear sound. In order to do that, the gramophone mounts an original Maestrophone Maestoso reproducer with the inscription Grand Prix Milan 1906 in white lettering on a black background. The reproducer is connected to the horn by a silvery metal arm; part of this arm is not the original one, but has been adapted to the model. A well-preserved metal elbow holds the reproducer and horn set and connects it to the box. As for the horn, is a very attractive and singular piece. It is a morning glory design, made of metal. The enamel is dark red and has a dark patina which provides it with depth. The finish is in wonderful condition. The paint is not the original. It looks like it was refinished years ago. This antique Central Europe horn gramophone will stand out in the most stylish room, for its great presence and good sound. Dimensions: Box: Side: 15.3 in / 39 cm. Height: 8.2 in / 21 cm.
