Antique Green Colibri portable gramophone - phonograph, made in Belgium circa 1925 and in very good condition. The gramophone, a classic of the first half of the 20th century, comes with its original leather case. This is quite a rare feature. The gramophones casing is green, another rare detail; most of them are black. These features, together with its fine condition and great working order, turn this gramophone into an exclusive collectors piece. The casing shows a great crackled finish and preserves the original front leather handle with the brand name COLIBRI in embossed capital letters. This name is also printed in the reproducer with the image of a bird. The chromed-metal component parts that make up the mechanism are greatly preserved, one of them bearing the engraved number 13712. The Colibri was the smallest portable gramophone made in the first decades of the 20th century. It was produced in Belgium, with Swiss-made motors and reproducers. As Richard Kay, expert of the British auction house Lawrence, the Colibri was the precursor of the Walkman and the iPod. This delicate antique green Colibri portable gramophone will stand out in any collection or shelf for its beauty and great condition. Dimensions: Width: 3.54 in / 9 cm. Depth: 4.72 in / 12 cm.
