Fully restored and in working condition, we present a very special Berliner gramophone model. It is one of the first ones manufactured at the end of the XIX century. Specifically, this is the Berliner Improved model, considered the first of all gramophones, introduced in 1897 to take advantage of the then new technology of the flat disc, to the detriment of the fragile wax cylinders. Its name is given by Emile Berliner, the German-American inventor of the telephone transmitter, the gramophone, vinyl records and precursor of the microphone, among other things. The Berliner gramophone was invented and patented in 1887 or 1888, a revolution in the acoustic mechanics that came equipped with a rotating plate, an arm, a needle or plectrum and an amplifier or horn, and a motor to rope which turned to 78 or 80 r.p.m., elements now to which we are very accustomed. The model on display presents a beautiful combination of noble materials (leather, brass and wood) and was marketed by the English house The Gramophone & Typewriter Ltd. of London. This is an extraordinary collector's item, fully restored to its original condition. Case dimensions: 13 cm (height), 22,5 cm (width), 25 cm (depth). Dimensions of the trumpet: 24,5 cm. Diameter, 35 cm. Length. Its real appraised value is between 4000 and 6000 US dollars.
