Great vintage gramophone made in Germany around 1920. This articles profuse decoration is very remarkable: though it is slightly smaller than other models, is very beautiful and remains in perfect condition. Actually the gramophone sounds greatly: it has a very silent motor and provides a neat and clear reproduction. If we consider the beautiful decoration of the horn and the box, we will find that this item is a very exclusive and special piece. The wooden box has dark walnut base, top and corners, which make a nice contrast with the light burr wood panels. Each panel has a nice inlaid marquetry detail in the centre, with a classic geometrical motive. The horn is made of metal and bears a profuse geometrical decoration adorning its inner and outer surface. The reproducer bears the Odeon logo, a brand that emerged in 1904 as the registered trademark of International Talking Machine GmbH, Berlin. The company was founded by Max Strauss and Heinrich Zunz with financial backing from Frederick M. Prescott. In the beginning this firm only produced gramophones (talking machines), but eventually it became record company too. This exclusive gramophone is a real collectors item and is undoubtedly worthy of the most demanding enthusiast of music and antiques. Measurements: Box width: 300 mm. Total width: 470 mm. Horns mouth: 400 mm height.
