Great vintage His Masters Voice table gramophone made in 1927. This is Model 109, a real classical music reproducer from the first half of the 20th century. This lovely gramophone is in excellent condition, and as well as being in perfect working order is a highly decorative item full of sober beauty. The manufacturing brand, His Masters Voice-HMV, was so called to a picture by Francis Barraud that depicts his dog Nipper listening to his masters voice (Barrauds brother, Mark, who was deceased) through the horn of a gramophone. The Gramophone and Typewriter Company acquired the picture in 1899 and it became its famous logo, while the pictures title became the brands name. This gramophone consists of a box made of solid oak wood and in great condition. The wood boasts its lovely golden tone and the deep veneer which is typical of this kind of wood. It has fully restored to show off its splendor. At the front the box has two small symmetrical doors that, when open, reveal a gap with two shelves designed to store the records. On the other hand, we lift the cover we will discover the plate and the reproducer, made of silvery metal and in perfect condition. In the reproducer we can see the inscription ELECTROLA Nº4, being Electrola the name under which His Masters Voice was always known in Germany. So this is an original HMV reproducer. The gramophone works wonderfully and provides a neat and clear sound, with a silent motor and a high-quality reproduction.Inside the box, just over the plate and in the left upper corner we can see a round label with the model: HIS MASTERS VOICE MODEL 109. Inside the cover we can also see the famous logo with the dog listening to one of the firms models. With the logo there is also an inscription: HIS MASTERS VOICE PATTENTS APPLIED FOR. This table gramophone is a very special piece that will let its owner enjoy the sound of vintage musical reproducers and will fill any room with its undeniable charm.Measurements: Width: 290 mm.
