Decorative and charming portable gramophone, made in 1920 and in good condition and working order. These types of portable gramophones were also known as picnic gramophone as they were mainly used in day trips and outdoors events. The item is in good condition and its motor has been revised and cleaned so it can provide an excellent sound reproduction quality. The gramophone sounds great.The box is small and made of lined wood. Outside is covered by brown faux leather simulating crocodile skin. This material is quite well preserved if we consider its ancient age and the intense use the gramophone was subjected to. Only the edges and corners look slightly worn, while the rest of the surface looks good. When we open the box we find a carefully dismantled device, with its different parts stored in various compartments. The user must just insert the arm and the crank in their corresponding places in order to start the gramophone.Some pieces show some slight signs of wear but they are solid and quite well preserved. When closed, the article is small in size and can be easily carried.This portable gramophone boasts all the charm of ingenious musical reproducers from the early 1900s. It is a good decorative piece but also an article designed to enjoy the unmistakable sound of the best vintage gramophones.
