This fascinating set containing different instruments and pieces, both original and curious, is an acoustical and sound-related experimentation tool set. This article comes from Germany and was made in the 1970s. The set comes in its original wooden box and is quite well preserved. Is nearly complete and the tools are really curious. In some of them and in the cases lid too we can see stickers with the brand name NEVA. Inside the case there are also two instruction booklets in Germand and a metal plate with the inscription 1/45610 FOR CHLADNY EXPERIMENTS written by hand in blue and red ink. This inscription indicates that it is designed to perform experiments related to the work of the German physician Ernst Florenz Friedrich Chladni (1756-1827). This scientist based his investigation in vibration and sound velocity, and is considered the father of acoustics. His most important discovery are the Chladny figures: geometrical patters formed by the vibration of different frequencies on a sand base covering a glass or metal plate, just like the one we can see in this set. Chladny was also one of the first scientists in asserting that meteorites come from the outer space and are not volcanic, as it was believed in those times. Inside the case there are several metal diapasons in different sizes; one is bigger than the others and has a lacquered wooden handle. We can also see bells, clamps, thread reels, a pocket balance, glass flasks and tubes and some other articles and products needed for the different tests. The leaflets that accompany the set provide information in German about how to perform the experiments. Last but not least, the case is made of solid beech wood with hice dovetail joints in the corners. It preserves the original hinges and suitcase locks. This acoustical experimentation set is a very original article, quite rare and full of charm. Medidas (Abierto): Ancho: 53 cm. Fondo: 50 cm.
