Large Precision Balance. 70 cm Height and Width. Germany, 1960's.

Fine big-sized precision scale (70 cm high and wide) made in Germany in the 1960s. This is a striking vintage piece which preserves all its original component parts and pieces and remains in excellent condition. The scale is also in perfect working order; it is quite precise and makes it possible to weigh minimum quantities. The scales base is a light-colored solid oak wooden box with two symmetrical drawers. The drawers are made of oak wood too except for the bottom, made of fiberboard. Both preserve the original pulls. Between the drawers we can see a colorful enameled-metal plate with the embossed manufacturers name, AUGUST SAUBER EBINGEN GERMANY. Standing on top of the base, the scale is composed of different brass metal parts in really good condition: the central pillar, the beam and the pointer. The pans are made of matt dark-brown metal. The scale attached at the bottom of the pillar is made of white-enameled metal and bears the engraved manufacturers logo. At the beam we can see the engraved inscription 5 KG, the manufacturers mark (with the image of a scale) and a series of numerals which mark the inspections made in order to guarantee a perfect weight. For its inherent beauty, powerful personality and amazing condition, this big-sized vintage precision scale deserves a special place in a living room, study or showcase.
